We are a synodal church where the laity is as important to policy as clergy. Every two years, the entire Ecumenical Catholic Communion meets in Synod.  In 2024, we met in Estes Park, Colorado. We send two members of the House of Pastors and two members of the House of Laity.  In  2026, we are scheduled to meet in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The two houses consider legislation, the budget, and meet in break out sessions on things such as liturgy, racial justice, hunger, climate concerns, and poverty.  At our keynote addresses we hear from noted ECC scholars and theologians.  In 2022, in we met in St. Louis, and walked in the steps of those persons of color who gave themselves just by trying to vote or find meaningful work!
